How to Find a Physician Job: 5 Tips to Land That Perfect Job!

When you are in your last year of residency, your major focus will be how to find a physician job.  Also, there may be a variety of reasons you maybe be looking for a new job later in your career:  being closer to home, predictable hours, more salary, travel (locum tenens), etc.  Whether you are just fresh out of residency or just wanting a new job for another reason, here are a few tips:

1.  Be flexible in your job search until you get some real experience

2.  Work with as many employers and recruiters as possible as this will

increase your chances of finding a job sooner

3.  Join networking sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter —> social media is a networking opportunity that should not be ignored

4.  Ask your colleagues if they know of any available positions –> a personal recommendation is always the best

5.  If you find yourself without a job after residency, make looking for a position your full time job until you find one
